The SAED story
Service with a skill for life.
The National Youth Service Corps introduced the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme in 2012 in response to youth unemployment. SAED expands the service-year experience beyond national service by exposing corps members to practical vocational skills, entrepreneurship and opportunities for self-employment.
The programme combines in-camp sensitisation and introductory training with deeper post-camp learning. Post-camp training is where corps members can strengthen technique, practise consistently and turn an initial interest into a marketable skill or viable business.
At Aburoff Trend Fashion Academy, the focus is practical fashion education: learning by doing, understanding professional garment construction and developing the discipline required to serve real clients and build a sustainable fashion career.
